in sharp contrast to the relaxed and calm residence where the guys got ready, the munar residence was anything BUT. as always, where the girls get dressed is a bustling place of chaos, disorder, and tons of make-up, hair products, and women and girls finding any reflective surface to make sure they look their absolute best. and as many bridal parties have encountered before, we were racing against the clock and gradually losing... but of course, the end result of the gorgeous bride and her bridal party were all worth it!

jen & ryan's wedding 3 of 5

guest commentator: monica

upon arrival, the bridesmaids quickly found the elevator entrance that would allow jen to be hidden from everyone's view. luckily for us, it appeared the rain would hold for the time being.

such magnificent sights with the beautiful bride, groom, and bridal party, happy and eager audience, amazing cathedral, and incredible flowers. what a wonderful ceremony in which jen and ryan were able to personalize their vows and choose very heartfelt readings. and the icing on the cake was great vocals and music to highlight all the love and tender moments...

of course, no wedding is complete without the touching speeches which induce lumps in throats and tearful eyes, the tossing of the bouquet and garter, and plenty of dancing, dancing, and dancing...

thank you, jen and ryan, for allowing us to take part on your special day. we wish you a marriage as beautiful as your wedding!

Jasmin and Jerome's E-Session

guest commentator: monica

you gotta love this adorable couple for picking such a great location for an engagement session! this time, we headed to sonoma to visit cornerstone garden, a very cool, creative, and unique outdoor garden museum. just the place to complement the playful twosome, the lovely jasmin and jerome! we were lucky to visit on one of their "free days." i'm telling you, this place has what seems to be an unlimited number of photo opps. it's just zany!

afterwards, we headed to artesa in the napa valley, which happened to be closed. so instead, we pulled over to the side of the lonely road for views of the rolling vineyards and a "swimming hole." jasmin even braved the snake holes near the arrow signs, which the heroic jerome was able to "stomp" away! seriously, a snake the length of a full meter came through just as jasmin wondered aloud about the holes in the grass.

congrats to jasmin and jerome! thanks for spending the afternoon with us and introducing us to cornerstone. can't wait for your wedding in august!!!

chelsea and bj's e-session part 1 of 4

guest commentator: monica

i just love it when we shoot on slightly cloudy days. gloomy weather behind us the day before and plenty of sunshine with cotton-candy strands of clouds striated through the sky during our engagement session with chelsea and bj this past weekend. our first stop was baker beach. since this couple will be wed on oahu next march, where chelsea is originally from, they definitely wanted to be sure to include sf, since this is the location of their first meeting. and what says san francisco more than the monumental golden gate bridge. we had such a great time with the two, who were pretty much down to do anything we asked as you'll soon see throughout these four photo blogs. be sure to view them all!

next stop was crissy field, where we got a chance to settle into a field of wild flowers. alright, so they were weeds... but they were pretty and bright yellow, which is eddie's favorite color! (anyone remember his first car?) great results on camera but not so great on bj's new white shirt, which ended up being splotched with pollen. ironically, chelsea's shirt stayed immaculate, though she was the one who volunteered that they would lie on the field.

the next challenging feat for bj was to head into a busy intersection in little italy, hoist chelsea up into a dip, kiss her, hold that pose for the camera, then run out of harm's way... all within 20 seconds! but his efforts were definitely worth the great shot we got of the transamerica building in the background.

and then off to the entrance to china town on grant street, where we were able to make-shift a "bj" california nameplate, alongside chelsea's name.

lastly, we found union square to be pleasantly much less congested for a weekend (thanks to easter sunday!) and were able to capture some great shots of the heart sculptures. the next feat included both chelsea and bj jumping onto a trolley for quick smooch, as it picked up a few passengers.
